NavyVisakhapatnam: A free medical camp for ex-Servicemen was organised at Kasimkota village near Anakapalli in Visakhapatnam district by INHS Kalyani under the aegis of Eastern Naval Command (ENC) and the Navy Wives Welfare Association (Eastern Region) on Sunday. The camp was inaugurated by Vice Admiral Bimal Verma, AVSM, Chief of Staff, Eastern Naval Command. Surgeon Rear Admiral KK Upadhyay, VSM, Command Medical Officer, and Surgeon Commodore VSSR Ryali, Commanding Officer, INHS Kalyani, also attended the camp held at the Zilla Parishad Girls' High School at Kasimkota. The day-long camp comprised 10 out-patient disciplines covering all major specialties like eye, ENT, dental, medical, dermatology and paediatrics, in addition to laboratory, electro-cardiogram (ECG) and dispensary facilities. More than 600 ex-Servicemen and families benefited from the medical facilities provided by a 100-member medical and para-medical team, including 20 medical officers. Near vision glasses were also distributed to the needy.
