Rajendra Prasad gets TSR Lalitha Kala Parishad award

Visakhapatnam: Dr T Subbarami Reddy Lalitha Kala Parishad presented 'Viswa Visishta Nata Praveena' title to cine hero and comedy actor Rajendra Prasad in recognition of his 35 years of long innings in the cine field at Ugadi Puraskara Mahotsav held on the Rama Krishna Beach on Thursday. The Lalitha Kala Parishad also presented Ugadi Puraskarams to 21 great personalities excelled in various fields of whom cine actor Gollapudi Maruti Rao and former Chairman of Bar Council of India D V Subba Rao were not present. Those who received the Puraskarams include Dr S V Adinarayana Rao, Dr M Madhusudana Babu, I V L Sastry, Dr Meegada Ramalinga Swamy, Dr D Surya Rao, Dr Dakshina Murty, Kashim Mehdi, A P Choudury, Bhagavathi, Lakshmi Mahanthi, Satyanand, Chilka Padmaraju, K Srinivas Chakravarti, S Gopalakrishna, C Pratapkumar, Captain D V Reddy, G Narasimha Rao, Dr Ch Srinivasa Rao and P V Satyanarayanamma. Speaking on the occasion, Rajendra Prasad said that he had strong relationship with Dr T S R over two and a half decades and those who love and encourage stage artistes and cine artistes would grow in their life and would be liked by all. Stating that the film 'Aa Naluguru' in which he acted, had brought laurels to his character, he said it was very great that such a person like Dr T S R sharing his devotional power to all sections. President of APPCC Botcha Satyanarayana said that Dr T S R is the only political person who was conducting various programmes and social activities. He said though he has not that much of intimacy with actor Rajendra Prasad, he attended the function to convey his Ugadi greetings. In his speech, Dr Subbarami Reddy claimed that people of Visakha Parliament segment were waiting to see him as local MP here and sought the co-operation of all sections of people. Later, a team of 35 stage artistes from Tirupati have presented dance ballet Sri Srinivasa Kalyanam under the music direction of Principal of S V Music and Dance College, Tirupati Challa Prabhavathi and former principal A Prabhavathi and Dr Devender, G Bhaskara Rama Rao and Uma Muddubala on the occasion which was the main attraction of the function. Among those, Ministers Ganta and Balaraju also spoke.
