Anakapalli (Visakhapatnam): The political future of all the present State and Central ministers, MPs and MLA from Seemandhra would be bleak if they fail to resign immediately in favour of Samaikyandhra, said Visalandhra Maha Sabha State general secretary Parakala Prabhakar.
Addressing a mammoth gathering at the Samaikyandhra Laksha Jana Garjana in the jaggery town here on Wednesday, Mr Parakala said all political leaders had belied the trust reposed in them by the public, employees, teachers, students, advocates, businessmen and all other organisations in safeguarding the interests of Andhra Pradesh. “In good faith, nobody came onto the roads to participate in the Samaikyandhra agitation till July 30 thinking that all political leaders and ministers were shouldering the responsibility of keeping the State united. When the integrationists noticed that nothing was done by the so-called political leaders, the agitation was spontaneous from the hearts of all sections of general public. Nobody can stop the movement till the Centre withdraws its ‘hire and fire’ decision of bifurcating the State,” he said.
Mr Prabhakar demanded all ministers, MPs and MLAs to join the agitation failing which all such representatives would be chased out by the agitators. “When demands of bifurcation were coming from other States, why was the Congress interested in announcing its decision in the case of Andhra Pradesh alone?” he questioned. He thanked all the local members and leaders of all Joint Action Committees (JACs) of teachers, students, advocates, employees, NGOs and others for making the mega event a grand success. Meeting co-convenor Dadi Ratnakar welcomed the gathering and monitored the arrangements.
Folk songs rendered by Vangapandu Usha and other artistes against UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao attracted the audience. Thousands of people, including children, thronged the venue since morning braving hot sun. Among others, YSR Congress Party leader Dadi Veerabhadra Rao, Konatala Lakshminarayana and Paruchuri Bhaskara Rao were present.
