Visakhapatnam: Uttarandhra Journalists’ Front (UJF) and the Public Library jointly celebrated the 104th birthday of Acharya Ronanki Appalaswamy here on Sunday. Appalaswamy, a multi-faceted personality in the field of literature, was an expert writer in 14 languages. He wrote books in Spanish, French, German and other languages even without crossing the shores. He belonged to Tekkali in Srikakulam district.
Appalaswamy’s disciple and educationist Manepalli Satyanarayana, who was the chief guest, lauded the work of his master and said he was a writer of repute. He went down the memory lane to get to Appalaswamy’s work and shared some musings with the select gathering. Public Library vice-president Varahalu Chetty, UJF president MRN Varma, UJF secretary Nageshwar Rao and writer Ramathirdha participated.
