No water supply, CC roads in Dalit locality

Asifabad: The members of 15 Dalit families of Gollaguda locality and local BJP leaders criticised the officials’ apathy in solving the drinking water and CC road problems in the colony.
The villagers staged a dharna at the DRDA office, alleging that the only bore-well in their locality was not working, making it hard for them to get drinking water.The residents said soiled road with water pools during monsoon creates troubles to them. The students are forced to skip school due to water stagnations on the road. They also have to forego the facility of 108 ambulance. Even the locals cannot get private vehicles to go to local hospital as vehicles cannot enter the locality.
Local BJP leaders have expressed distress that despite their several representations requesting water supply and CC road to District Collector Champalal, JC Ashok Kumar and DRDO Shankar, the administration has failed to respond.
The leaders criticised the State government for neglecting its assurance of developing dalit areas during its last two-and-half-year rule. The dalit residents have appealed to the administration to provide them the two basic facilities.
