Hanamkonda: Wasteful expenditure has been increasing in the country with the printing of currency and hence electronic transactions have to be increased, stated BJP national general secretary P Muralidhar Rao.

There would be no need of currency if the electronic payment mode used extensively. The party and the Centre would take up nation-wide campaign to promote digital transactions, he said while adding that 100 per cent digital transactions might not be possible.

The youth clubs, NSS and others would be involved in the campaign, he said. Speaking to press persons in Hanamkonda on Wednesday, Muralidhar Rao claimed that those, who have supported the demonetisation decision, were going to receive benefits in the ensuing central budget. Poor and middle class would get increased allocations and subsidies in the budget.

The BJP leader claimed that with the withdrawal of higher denomination currency inflation rate and prices would come down and white economy would increase. The influence of black money in elections and in government should be curtailed.

In the days to come the Centre would focus on all sources of black money like benami land transactions. The government would not take any decision going against the law of the land, he said while referring to the restrictions on gold purchases.

‘Public should not trust rumours being spread in this connection,’ Muralidhar Rao added.Referring to involvement of banks in exchanging currency violating the norms, he said the government was aware of mismanagement by some banks. Action would be taken against erring banks and their staff after December 31. Any action against banks now might lead to strike, he felt.

On the BJP’s performance in Telangana, he said the party was going to emerge as an alternate to the ruling TRS. Efforts were being made to strengthen the party at grassroots level. As part of which the party has constituted its district units in newly created districts, ahead of the TRS and Congress.

Priority was given to women in forming the new district bodies. Women leaders of the party were made presidents in three districts and Warangal Urban was one among them. More importance would be given to women in the party affairs in the days to come, Muralidhar Rao revealed.BJP Warangal Urban district president Rau Padma and others were present.
