Farmers told to raise dry crops in Rabi

Mancherial: District Collector R V Karnan directed Kadem project ayacut farmers to raise dry crops in Rabi season as they are less water intensive.

He inspected Kadem project distributary channel on Thursday. He said water for irrigation for rabi season would be supplied from January to April through Ethipothala scheme. Crop rotation will enrich soil fertility.

He sought farmers’ cooperation to ensure the tail end ayacut lands get irrigation facility. He warned stern action against those who indulge in breaching the cannel bund.
