Karimnagar: District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmad urged all sections of people to be a part in preventing corruption as a social responsibility and not to encourage people involved in corruption.

Attending as a chief guest at the closing ceremony of Anti-Corruption Week celebrations, organised by ACB at Late John Wilson Memorial Open Air Theatre in the Commissionerate here on Friday.

He said encouraging corruption is also a crime and requested the people to complaint to higher officials immediately if they face problems with corrupt officials.

He appreciated ACB sleuths for discharging their duties successfully and for taking necessary steps for preventing corruption in the district.

Police Commissioner V B Kamalasan Reddy said both taking and giving bribe is a crime. Whenever any person notices such incidents, they should inform immediately to ACB officials.

The Collector handed over certificates to students, who won prizes in essay writing competitions organised on the occasion and mementos presented to those, who complained about corruption.

ACB Divisional Superintendent of Police Sudarshan Goud, Inspector S Srinivas and Reserve Inspector Gangadhar were present along with others.
