Karimnagar: District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmad ordered the owners of MeeSeva centres to install swiping machines at their centres to carry out cashless transactions.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is going to launch Telangana Wallet soon, he said.He participated at an awareness programme on cashless transactions with tahsildars and owners of MeeSeva centres in the Collectorate’s auditorium here on Friday.

Speaking at the meeting, the Collector said the government is encouraging cashless transactions post demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000, along with giving incentives to those, who carry out cashless transactions.

There are around 165 MeeSeva centres in the district. The government already issued orders for installing of swiping machines at all excise and retail shops in the district. At present, online payments were being done to cotton farmers at all market yards present in the district.

The Collector directed the tahsildars to adopt one village each and conduct awareness programmes on cashless transactions and to encourage the villagers to open bank accounts and to take debit and credit cards to carry out 100 per cent cashless transactions along with installing swiping machines in every village.Joint Collector B Srinivas and Revenue Divisional Officer Chandra Shekar were present along with others.
