Parkal: For the first time, the core business area in Parkal town has been brought under the surveillance of closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras.

Thanks to the traders, who identified the importance of the ‘third eye’, heeding to the advice of Warangal Commissioner of Police G Sudheer Babu.

In a bid to turn his command area ‘smart and secure’, the Commissioner has been suggesting the people to bring their residential colonies and business premises under CCTV cameras.

Following his call, the traders came forward to install 32 CCTV cameras covering all vantage points in the town. All the CCTV ameras were integrated with the police command control room with the round-the-clock surveillance.

Inaugurating the facility here on Monday, Sudheer Babu claimed that there has been a significant fall in the crime rate in areas that were brought under CCTV camera surveillance.

“There are nearly 11,600 CCTV cameras keeping a constant watch of residential and business areas in the Commissionerate,” he said. It’s essential for every person to be vigilant, the Commissioner said, stressing the need for making use of the technology. East Zone DCP Md Ismail, Parkal ACP YVS Sudhindra, Inspector J Narsimhulu and businessmen were among others present.
