Sudhakar along with Sub-Inspector Ashok Kumar distributed sweaters, books and pencils to child labourers on Friday at a special programme organised on the premises of the Mancherial police station.

Mancherial: Circle Inspector Damera Sudhakar said at least 300 orphan-children were admitted in schools and welfare hostels as a part of ‘Operation Smile’ programme.

Sudhakar along with Sub-Inspector Ashok Kumar distributed sweaters, books and pencils to child labourers on Friday at a special programme organised on the premises of the Mancherial police station.

Sudhakar said the government is implementing Operation Smile programme to reduce the number of child labourers. He appealed to everyone to show concern on orphan children.

He appreciated the police staff Omkar and Tirupathi for implementing the programme successfully. The CI thanked the contractors, who donated pencils and books to the children.

He urged the child welfare society to strive for the prosperity of orphan children so that they wouldn’t become beggars and child workers.Child welfare society officer Ravuf Khan participated in the programme.
