Khammam: The representatives of the All India Democratic Women Association (AIDWA) welcomed the decision of establishment of 31 special courts for women in each district here in Khammam on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the District President of AIDWA M Bharati said due to several movements taken up by the AIDWA in the earlier days, the government has taken this initiative of establishing special courts for women by changing the Fast Track courts present in the respective districts.

Through the special courts, actions will be taken against the persons involved in cases in which women are harassed physically and mentally.

She demanded the government to appoint required staff in the women courts apart from releasing sufficient funds for taking immediate actions against the accused in the cases related to women.

“Since 50 per cent of women are uneducated and depend on daily wages, many are facing severe problems with the decision of ban on high-value currency, the government must take proper steps, especially for the sake of women, in view of demonetisation,” she demanded.
