Hanamkonda: Kakatiya University Vice-Chancellor Prof R Sayanna asserted that maintaining high standards of education at university level and in the affiliated colleges is his top priority. Prof Sayanna was addressing a meeting of principals, directors and representatives of professional affiliated colleges of the university held at Kakatiya University in Hanamkonda on Tuesday. While addressing the gathering he said, ‘My first priority is achieving highest academic standards and there will be no compromise in it’.

The government is keen in maintaining the educational standards and quality of education being offered at the universities in the State. The college managements should make efforts in that direction and impart quality education to the students, the VC said.

“University does not mean only the campus and colleges, but it also includes all the private affiliated colleges which are not separate. The university’s reputation depends on the functioning of all its colleges” Prof Sayanna said. The affiliated colleges’ managements should appoint qualified faculty and ensure that all required facilities are provided at their colleges. There should be healthy competition among the colleges in terms academic excellence, he suggested.

The VC asked the college representatives to interact with him as frequently as possible to sort out the issues. “You can post any issue related to your colleges to my mail directly,” he said while the university registrar Prof M V Ranga Rao said that they would always be ready to address issues of the colleges.

College Development Council Dean Prof G Gangadhar Reddy advised the college managements to set up biometric systems to maintain the attendance of students and teachers. Dean (Academic Affairs) Prof T Ramesh, professors Y Prameela Devi, M Hanmantha Rao, T Srinivasulu, S Mahender Reddy, G Achaiah and others were present.
