Two senior professors, Y Prameela Devi and S Mahender Reddy of Kakatiya University have been selected for ‘Best Teacher Award’ given by the State government. They will be presented the awards at a ceremony in Hyderabad on Friday.

Warangal: Two senior professors, Y Prameela Devi and S Mahender Reddy of Kakatiya University have been selected for ‘Best Teacher Award’ given by the State government. They will be presented the awards at a ceremony in Hyderabad on Friday.

Prof Prameela Devi of Zoology department has got teaching experience of 34 years and published 124 research papers and six books. She guided 22 research scholars and presented research papers in 26 international conferences in 19 nations.

In the past she received National Meritorious Invention Award from National Research Development Corporation (NRDC), DST Young Scientist Award, UGC Research Award and Australia Endeavour Executive Fellowship.

Prof Mahender Reddy with a teaching experience of 26 years held various administrative and academic positions at the university. He served as the director, Centre for Adult, Continuing & Extension Activities and others and currently serving as controller of examinations.

He published five books and 24 research papers. The university Vice-Chancellor Prof R Sayanna, Registrar Prof K Purushotham, teaching and non-teaching members of the university have congratulated the professors on getting selected for the award.
