Karimnagar: New veterinary hospitals will be constructed in every district across the State for providing better services to animals, informed Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav.

The Minister along with Finance Minister Eatala Rajender on Thursday inaugurated the new building of district veterinary hospital equipped with all modern facilities, constructed at a cost of Rs 5 crores in Karimnagar. Equipment worth Rs one crore was also supplied to the hospital.

Speaking on the occasion, Srinivas Yadav said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is striving hard for the all-round development of Telangana State. To uplift the shepherd community in the State, ‘Sheep Rearing Scheme’ was introduced through which, sheep units were distributed to shepherds for their financial development by investing about Rs 5,000 crores. As many as 18.9 lakhs sheep were purchased from other States.

KCR is going to inaugurate ‘mobile veterinary vehicles’ on September 15 in Hyderabad for providing better services to animals, he added.

Finance Minister Eatala Rajender alleged that due to lack of encouragement from previous governments, the shepherd community faced lot of problems. To uplift about 40 lakh families, who depend on sheep rearing in villages, the TRS government introduced ‘sheep rearing scheme’ in the State and distributed sheep units to the beneficiaries, he explained.

By utilising various welfare schemes introduced by the State government, the people must grow both economically and socially and must participate actively in building of Bangaru Telangana, he urged.

Zilla Parishad Chairperson Tula Uma, MLC Naradasu Lakshman Rao, Joint Director of Animal Husbandry Vikram Kumar and Additional Director Venkateshwarlu were present along with others.
