Peddapalli: District in-charge Collector S Prabhakar Reddy directed the officials to implement ‘liquor policy’, introduced by the State government with transparency.

He participated in the lotter system held for selecting applicants for establishing liquor shops, at a private function hall in Bhandampalli in Peddapalli on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, the in-charge Collector said that after the introduction of the new liquor policy, about 75 wine shops were allotted for the district as per the Gazette issued on September 13 and as many as 650 applications were filed. Tokens will be given to the applicants.

As per the guidelines issued by the government, licenses will be issued to those applicants, whose tokens were picked up through lottery system, he explained.

The persons, who obtained license, must run the liquor shops as per the government guidelines without violating the rules, the in-charge Collector said.

The shop owners must install at least two CCTV cameras at their shops and must follow the HPFS system along with selling the liquor as per MRP rates only.
