Peddapalli: The District in-charge Collector S Prabhakar Reddy here on Tuesday advised the farmers not believe middlemen and get cheated by them.

Presiding over a review meeting with officials of Agriculture and Marketing departments at Collectorate, Prabhakar Reddy instructed the officials to submit the details of the cotton crop that was cultivated in the district and the cotton farmers along with handling over the list of the farmers by October 3 by taking special interest.

After perusing the list of farmers given by officials of the Agriculture Department, the officials of the Marketing Department must issue the QR Coded Identity Cards to farmers and take steps to create awareness among them so that they won’t be cheated by middlemen, suggested the District Collector.

The Collector advised the farmers to bring the quality cotton to the market explaining the officials about their produce along with taking steps for improving the quality of cotton for getting maximum price for their produce.

The officials of Marketing Department must hand over the details of cotton farmers after getting the list from the Agriculture Officers to the Collector’s office, said in-charge Collector S Prabhakar Reddy.

The officials must know at what stage the paddy crops was at present and by the time of harvesting it necessary steps must be taken for supplying sufficient quantities of water along with handling over the details of the crop, added the Collector.

District Agriculture Officer Thirumal Prasad, District Marketing Officer Shyam Kumar, Additional Director Jakeer Ali, Divisional Manager of TS-SDC Srinivas and other officials were present on the occasion.
