The Joint Collector participated in an awareness programme on ‘Compulsory Marriage Registration’ organised by the Women and Child welfare department here in Karimnagar on Tuesday, where he was the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Badri Srinivas said that registering the marriage as per Hindu Marriage Act-2002 would be beneficial to the entire family in future.
By registering the marriage and getting a certificate would boost up confidence of women to lead happy life and child marriages also could be prevented at the time of marriage registrations, said the Women Welfare Officer M Sharada.
The District Panchayat Officer Narayana said that boards must be displayed in the village panchayat offices to create awareness on the registration of marriages along with conducting various types of programme so that every person comes to know about the Hindu Marriage Act-2002.
The Municipal Registration Officer Gautam Reddy said that the applicants must consult the Marriage Registering officer at a municipality for getting applications and enrolling their marriages and to get certificates later.
Later the Joint Collector Badri Srinivas along with other officials released poster for creating awareness among the people on the registration of marriages.
Child Protection Officer D Parveen, Srilatha, Kavitha Devi, Srinivas, MPDO’s, EOPRD’s and CDPO’s were present along with others.
