102nd birth anniversary fete of Konda Laxman Bapuji
Telangana freedom fighter Prof Konda Laxman Bapuji’s 102nd birth anniversary celebrations were held on a grand scale here on Wednesday. Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy paid rich tributes to Konda Laxman Bapuji. He inaugurated a blood donation camp organised by the Red Cross Society and distributed eight tricycles to physically challenged persons.
Nizamabad: Telangana freedom fighter Prof Konda Laxman Bapuji’s 102nd birth anniversary celebrations were held on a grand scale here on Wednesday. Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy paid rich tributes to Konda Laxman Bapuji. He inaugurated a blood donation camp organised by the Red Cross Society and distributed eight tricycles to physically challenged persons.
He also participated in a meeting organised on the occasion at Rajiv Gandhi Auditorium. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the Horticulture University was named after Prof Konda Laxman after the formation of Telangana state in recognition of his contribution.”
The State government allocated Rs 40,000 cr for 30 welfare schemes. It has been encouraging caste based occupations,” he added. MLA Ganesh Gupta, Zilla Parishad Chairman D Raju, MLC Bhupathi Reddy, Mayor Akula Sujatha and District Collector A Ravinder Reddy were present.
