Warangal: Founded with an objective of serving students at rural schools, TechSeva, a charitable initiative by a group of engineering students, is spreading its field of activity to serve different sections in the society.

TechSeva, a social and non-profit organisation was started on December 2, 2013 marking International Digital Literacy Day to impart technical education such as basics of computer applications and its hardware as well as Ms-office tools to students at government schools.

‘The organisation was launched with just seven members. Now we are a 50-member strong team as several engineering graduates from Warangal and Hyderabad joined us,’ informed Techseva main founder Manideep Anchoori.

He started it when he was pursuing B Tech at a private college at Narsampet in Warangal. S Rohith Kumar (co-founder), Akash Harsha (chief designer), Tejendra Kurma (content writer and advisor) are the board members.

Besides training students in computer applications, TechSeva, has also been conducting motivational classes at government schools. ‘One Book Challenge’ launched by it with an objective of donating books to under privileged students received accolades from several sections.

‘We have received appreciation from headmaster’s of various schools for our efforts in empowering the students with computer knowledge and helping them plan further studies after SSC,’ Manideep said.

TechSeva is now planning to launch a portal, ‘Step Next’ to address issues of girl students. Majority of girls fail to continue their studies after intermediate as their parents give preference to their marriage instead of letting them study.
“This practice is widespread in rural areas. We wish to reach out to the girl students to help them shape their future after completing intermediate education which is important towards their empowerment”.

A team for Step Next activities is constituted with Anusha Enduri, Lahari, Ravali Bandi, Aparna, Navya Kodari to take the lead, Manideep, presently working in a New Delhi-based software company, he told The Hans India.

Similarly, an online blood donation portal will be launched within the next one month. Now-a-days many blood banks are making blood donation and its distribution commercial due to which those in need of blood are facing trouble, he said.

Interested donors can register their names on the portal and their names and contact details will be displayed globally. Those in need of blood may contact the donors at their respective places and thus can avoid the trouble of running around blood banks, Manideep explained. In recognition of TechSeva services, Vision India Foundation has presented ‘Young Achievers 2017’ award to Manideep on September 26 this year.
