Sircilla: The district backward castes development department had observed the birth anniversary of Adi Kavi Maharshi Valmiki at Podupu Bhavan in Sircilla on Thursday.

Paying floral tribute to the portrait of Valmiki, District Collector D Krishna Bhaskar said that Adi Kavi Valmiki was the creator of the epic Ramayana. By taking his as an inspiration, all sections of people living in the society must follow his teachings and ideologies, he advised.

The Collector advised the people of various sections and students to organise several social service programmes like fruits distribution to patients, clothes to poor, food to the needy and books to poor students, marking the birth anniversary celebrations of Adi Kavi Valmiki.

Valmiki’s life is a good example and one can learn by observing that how a common man with lot of hard work and dedication can become an extraordinary Sage of all times and master in literature.

District Revenue Officer Shyam Lal Prasad, Rural Development Officer Panduranga, Welfare Officer of the Hostels S Srinivas and Rajendar were present along with the representatives of various peoples organisations.
