The walkathon was a part of Reddy Poru Yatra, which commenced from Vemulawada on October 2.

The leaders demanded the government allocation of Rs 1000 crore for Reddy corporation, sanction one Gurukula (Residential School) to each district, monthly pension of Rs 3,000 for farmers aged above 50 years, about 10 per cent reservation to Reddys in education and employment, a commission to study about the status of Reddys in the State and ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh to the farmers, who died due to electrocution and snake bites.

State president Yenugu Santosh Reddy, state leader N Raja Reddy, Nizamabad district working president Karunakar Reddy, Mendora mandal leader Musku Raja Reddy, leaders Koppela Ramesh, Anugu Bhaskar, V Rajeshwar and other leaders took part in the Yatra.

Meanwhile, Mendora Mandal Reddy Student union president D Raju Reddy and other leaders in large numbers participated in the programme.

A 11-day padayatra will culminate at Hyderabad. The Yatra will go through Sircilla, Kamareddy, Toopran and Medchal culminate at Kompally on October 12.
