On the occasion of National Unity Day and marking the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the police officials in association with the Chamber of Commerce had organised a 2K run from Godavarikhani Singareni Stadium to Gandhi Chowk, under Ramagundam Commissionerate limits.

The top cop, Vikram Jeet Duggal, inaugurated the 2K run in which the police personnel, students from various educational institutions and people participated actively in large numbers.

Later, the Commissioner of Police Duggal paid floral tributes to the portrait of Sardar Patel at a programme organised at Gandhi Chowk and congratulated the organisers for conducting the programme successfully. All those present on the occasion were made to do national unity pledge.

AR Additional Divisional Superintendent of Police Praveen Kumar, AR Assistant Commissioner of Police Nagendrudu, Municipal Commissioner Srinivas Rao, CSB inspector Vijay Sarathi, CIs Krishna Vasudeva Rao, Venkateshwarlu, Deva Reddy, SIs and RSIs, President of Chamber of Commerce Ashok Rao and Carporators were present along with students of various educational institutions.

Karimnagar: The officials of police department had observed the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as Rashtriya Ekta Divas (National Unity Day) on a grand note here on Tuesday.

Commissioner of Police V B Kamalasan Reddy paid rich tributes by garlanding the portrait of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on the occasion of his 142nd birth anniversary at the Commissionerate in Karimnagar Tuesday and administered a pledge by the staff members.

Speaking on the occasion, the top cop said that by taking Sardar Patel as an inspiration, the police officials must strive hard to render better services to the nation along with providing tight security for the safety of the people.

The police officials must spread the message of diversity in unity and must play a key role in the development of the nation, he added.

Rural Assistant Commissioner of Police V Thirupathi, SI Venkataramana, RI Gangadar, Inspector Mahesh Goud, President of Police Official Association M Surendar and RSIs Srishailam and Jani Miya were present along with others.
