Hanamkonda: Kakatiya University administration has proposed to build a mega boys hostel complex on the university Campus to meet the needs of ever increasing strength of the students. The hostel complex will be constructed with an estimated cost of Rs 24.24. crore. This new complex with four wings each with three-storey will have a plinth area of about 29,000 sq.ft, informed the university Vice-Chancellor Prof R Sayanna.

The proposed hostel complex will accommodate about 500 students providing state-of-art facilities to the students; he said adding that the new hostel complex will address the shortage of hostel facilities being faced by the students.

The Vice-Chancellor along with the university development officer Prof Gade Dayakar and Central Public Works (CPW) chief engineer NNSS Rao inspected the construction site on Wednesday.The construction will be undertaken and completed soon by Central Public Works Department, said the development officer, Prof Dayakar. On the occasion, the CPW chief engineer Rao is felicitated with a shawl and memento.

CPW engineers Kanaka Raju, N Srinivas Reddy, university building division engineer D Rajendra Karan, Deputy executive engineer D Bhavani Prasad took part in the programme. On the day, Osmania University Vice-Chancellor Prof V Ramachandram visited the KU Campus and called the KU V-C Prof Sayanna. Both the V-Cs deliberated on academic and developmental issues related to their respective universities.
