Hanamkonda: Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP) employees’ strike demanding regularisation of their services on Thursday entered the fourth day. The JAC leaders – Gaddi Ashok and P Ashok – demanded the government regularisation of the services of 4,264 employees spread across the State. “Based on the Supreme Court’s ruling, the principle of equal pay for equal work has to be made applicable,” the leaders demanded.

Criticising the government for not implementing its promises, the protestors threatened to intensify their stir if the establishment fails to fulfill their justifiable demand. Representatives of Mandal Samakyas of various mandals expressed their solidarity with the protestors. Meanwhile, Narsampet independent MLA Donthi Madhava Reddy has assured the employee leaders, who met him, that he would raise the issue in the Assembly during the ‘zero hour’.
