Hanamkonda: It’s now time for the cadres to make their mark, Telugu Desam State general secretary and Warangal Urban district president Eega Mallesham said, referring to the leaders, who deserted the party.

Speaking to media persons at the party office here on Wednesday, he said that leaders like Gandra Satyanarayana Rao and Sitakka alias Danasari Anasuya have made a grave mistake by quitting the party that gave them political life. It may be noted here that former MLA Sitakka joined the Congress a fortnight ago and Satyanarayana Rao joined the ruling TRS on Wednesday.

“Satyanarayana Rao, who is an established leader, has a better chance of winning it if he had continued with the TDP until next election,” Mallesham said, expressing doubts over Satyanarayana Rao getting the ticket of Bhupalpally constituency, which currently represented by Telangana Assembly Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary. Both Sitakka and Satyanarayana Rao made a blunder by leaving the TDP, when they have better prospects of winning their respective constituencies – Mulugu and Bhupalpally.

How would Satyanarayana Rao, who until recently accused the Speaker family of collecting commissions, work together with them in Bhupalpally, he questioned. Both Reddy and Velama communities are trying to have a sway over the State politics, he said, urging the backward classes to wake up and unite. He said that it’s an opportunity for the cadres to grow as leaders. He found fault with the Finance Minister E Rajender defending the loans taken by the government.

State Org Secretary Gattu Prasad Babu, Greater Warangal president Kakke Saraiah, State secretary Pulluri Ashok Kumar, leaders Arshanapalli Vidyasagar, Bhaskula Eshwar, Thulla Kumaraswamy, Thallapalli Jayapal, Sriramula Suresh, Hanmakonda Sambaiah, Madhasi Babu, Vallepu Srinivas, Thallapalli Raju, Mahesh, Madhasi Bharath, SK Baba, Gabbeta Rajaiah and Bunty were among others present.
