Warangal: In the wake of Municipal Administration Minister K Taraka Rama Rao’s visit to Warangal on Saturday, the city Congress is gearing up to stage protests with the demand to address various issues in the city. The city Congress working president Rajanala Srihari speaking to presspersons in Warangal on Thursday, warned that they would obstruct Minister KT Rama Rao’s visit to the city on Saturday.

He demanded KTR to release a White Paper on the process of work tenders in GWMC. He alleged that large scale corruption was taking place in inviting and allocating work tenders in the Corporation. As a result, crores of rupees of public money being pocketed by the ruling party leaders. Huge number of applications under land regularisation scheme to be cleared, he said.

Despite tall claims on allocating hundreds of crores of rupees for the city development, the roads in the city were in a pathetic condition. Warangal being the second biggest city in Telangana after Hyderabad was lacking underground drainage. The Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao, promised to construct underground drainage system within three months of assuming power in the State.

Three years passed by, but no steps were taken in that direction, Srihari complained. The party leaders M Vinod Kumar, K Srinivas, Md. Ayub Khan, Koorathota Sadanandam, P Narender, and others were present. The leaders asked the public to join Congress in their protests on Saturday.
