Hanamkonda: Warangal Urban district collector Amrapali Kata on Tuesday emphasised the need for tapping the enormous tourism potentials the region has.

In a review meeting that focused on the structures of heritage and culture, she said that Warangal Kakatiya dynasty’s seat of power has a lot of tourism potential and it needs to be explored.

“There is an imminent need to make the heritage structures accessible to people, besides focusing on unexplored sites,” Amrapali said, directing the officials to carry a comprehensive survey so that the remnants of Kakatiya era spread all over the region will get a prominence. She stressed on the need for using sophisticated technology to protect the structures that are losing sheen.

District tourism officer M Shivaji, regional science centre in-charge Ashok Kumar, Relaince Foundation representative Aravind and history enthusiast Aravind Arya Pakide were among others were present.
