Women advised to gain legal knowledge
District Collector Champalal called upon the women to have a good knowledge about the laws meant for them. He and Tripurana Venkataratnam, the Chairperson of Telangana State Women Commission attended as the chief guests at a two-day awareness programme on women laws organised at Pramila Gardens here on Tuesday.

Venkataratnam said the constitution provided equal rights to everyone. “There are several laws for women which aren’t being implemented. The women are unable to progress even after having 50 per cent reservation in local bodies. Parents should raise their children imparting moral values in them,” she added.
MLA Kova Lakshmi, High Court advocate Vijetha, MPP Tarababu, women sarpanches, DRDA Project Director Shankar, district officials, ICDS Project Director Savithri, supervisors, Anganwadi teachers, ayahs and others took part in the programme.
