Madikonda (Warangal Urban): The staff needs to be well acquainted with their duties, Commissioner of Police G Sudheer Babu said, addressing a one-day training capsule at the Madikonda Police Training Centre on Wednesday.

The training capsule module laid its focus on friendly policing, community policing, court monitoring, use of technology etc. besides keeping an eye on the promotion of State government’s flagship programmes such as Haritha Haram, village adoption and Mission Kakatiya.

“It’s an exercise to identify modern policing requirements and to improve desirable knowledge and skill in order to make the force more modern,” Sudheer exhorted. A constable from each police station had to attend the one-day training capsule every week, he said, stressing the importance of acquiring knowledge on all aspects.

The Commissioner said that onus is on police department to carry the Supreme Court directions in regard with working towards decreasing the number of pending cases. This is where court monitoring comes into picture, he said.

“Effective use of social networking sites such as WhatsApp and facebook is also the need of the hour,” the Commissioner said, pointing to the importance of social media in reaching the people.
