Hanamkonda/Jangaon: Parents have to encourage their children to participate in science exhibitions, suggested MLA D Vinay Bhaskar. The MLA said science exhibitions help students to display their scientific knowledge and talents. He along with GWMC Mayor N Narender and District Collector Amrapali Kata attended the inaugural ceremony of district-level Jawaharlal Nehru National Science, Mathematics and Environment Exhibition (JNNSMEE)-2017 in Hanamkonda at Government Practicing High School on Wednesday.
Vinay Bhaker appealed the teachers to make efforts to inculcate scientific temperament among the students to help them become future scientists and useful citizens. He asked the children to draw inspiration from personalities like APJ Abdul Kalam and dream big in life. Besides developing scientific skills, the students should also work for environmental protection and a plastic free society. Students should try to increase greenery in their schools and their residents by planting trees, the MLA advised.
Nearly 500 exhibits were on display at the science fair Jangaon: Addressing the students at the Jangaon district Jawaharlal Nehru National Science, Mathematics and Environment Exhibition, District Collector A Devasena told the students contribute their part towards safe environment. The teachers should make the students gain knowledge and importance of bio-diversity from childhood.
Though there was immense progress in terms of technology it was leading to decline in environment as well as compassion towards fellow beings, the Collector noted. Devasena urged the students to honour their culture and traditions as well to excel in their studies and earn laurels to Jangaon district. The students have to sharpen their creative skills to stand out and grow in life.
Zilla Parishad chairperson G Padma, MLC P Ravinder, MLA T Rajaiah, Jangaon municipality chairperson Premalatha Reddy and others were present.
