The authorities led by IG Y Nagi Reddy, DIG Pramod Kumar, ITDA Project Officer and Mancherial Collector RV Karnan and Adilabad SP Vishnu S Warrier conducted separate meetings with the Adivasis and Lambadas.

Adilabad: The Adilabad district well on course of limping back to normalcy after the Friday’s riot that kept the authorities on high alert. There was no untoward incident in the district. The authorities led by IG Y Nagi Reddy, DIG Pramod Kumar, ITDA Project Officer and Mancherial Collector RV Karnan and Adilabad SP Vishnu S Warrier conducted separate meetings with the Adivasis and Lambadas.

Adivasis represented by A Bhujanga Rao and Sidam Durgu assured that henceforth their agitation would be in peaceful manner. The leaders said that they would exert pressure on the government until the removal of Lambadas from the ST category list. The leaders demanded the authorities to stop issuing the Agency Certificate with immediate effect besides stopping the migrations from neighbouring State Maharashtra.

The Lambadas represented by former minister Amarsingh Tilavat and Naresh Jadhav urged the administration to provide security as their kith and kin are terrified aftermath Utnoor riots. Assuring protection, the IG Nagi Reddy warned both the communities not to resort to any kind of violence if so it will be dealt with iron hand.
