Hanamkonda: The students of Secret of Success (SS) Concept School at Bokkalagadda in Hanamkonda had celebrated the birth anniversary of the great mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan with grandeur on Friday. The School Correspondent Gudepu Ramesh paid rich tributes by garlanding the portrait of Srinivasa Ramanujan on the school premises and organised various programmes.

Speaking on the occasion, the School Correspondent Ramesh said Ramanujan was a legendary mathematician among the giants in the world of mathematics. In recognition of his contribution to mathematics, the Central government decided to celebrate his birthday which falls on December 22nd as the National Mathematics Day every year. Stating that Ramanujan without formal education, had mastered trigonometry and developed many theorems on his own without any assistance, maths teacher Sandhya motivated the students to take him as inspiration.

Another mathematics teacher Ramesh Chary said the Mathematics wizard Srinivasa Ramanujan made a significant contribution to mock ‘Theta function’ that generalises the form of the ‘Jacobi theta function’, while preserving their general properties. Ramanujan is also known for an interesting number 1729 which is actually called as ‘Hardy-Ramanujan number’.

Later, the students participated enthusiastically in mathematical quiz, solving problems logically along with displaying various models related to maths subject in the part of the celebrations.
