Crime rate drops in Kamareddy district

Crimes for the financial gain were reduced by 26 per cent and road accidents by 19%. Addressing media here on Wednesday, she said ATMs and bank thefts came down so also online cheating in the district. In 2017, the police department received 8,880 calls through ‘108’.

In all, 9049 have been apprehended for drunken driving. The awareness programmes conducted by the police had reduced crime rate as awareness dawned on the people. She praised the police officials, who rendered exemplary service during the year, and honoured them with gifts.

Swetha Reddy released a wall poster on various kinds of crimes taking place in the society. They will be displayed prominently at panchayat office in villages and other places, where people assemble. Several DSPs, CIs and SIs took part in the programme.
