Civil Societies JAC urges voters to be cautious in GWMC 44th by-poll
As the leaders of BJP and the ruling TRS engaged in hectic campaigning for GWMC 44th ward by-poll, the leaders of Civil Societies JAC have appealed the voters to be cautious while casting their vote.
Warangal: As the leaders of BJP and the ruling TRS engaged in hectic campaigning for GWMC 44th ward by-poll, the leaders of Civil Societies JAC have appealed the voters to be cautious while casting their vote.
The JAC leaders have toured the ward in Hanamkonda on Thursday and distributed pamphlets to the residents campaigning to make use of their voting right to choose a right candidate, who could serve public.
The JAC honorary chairman K Venkata Narayana, convener T Sheshu and chairman P Sudhakar asked the residents of the ward to select their ward corporator based on individuals’ honesty and urge to develop the area.
The voters were asked not to give importance to the party affiliation of the contesting candidates but look at their character while casting their vote during the election. The residents were also asked not to fall prey to the monetary and other benefits offered by the candidates, in choosing their representative in the GWMC council.
Meanwhile, at Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) head office a training programme for the polling personnel and official was conducted. The Corporation in-charge Commissioner Ch Nageshwar, Returning Officer Karunakar, Observer Prasanna Rani and others took part in the programme.
A master trainer, A Ravinder explained the election staff about various aspects of conducting the polling. He asked them to conduct mock-polling to prepare themselves for the polling day. Additional electronic voting machines (EVMs) should be kept ready to replace the EVMs in the case of technical problems. Later the officials visited GWMC indoor stadium, where it was proposed to set up a strong room and counting centre. The officials GV Narayana Rao, Venu Gopal, Srinivas and others were present.
