Nirmal: Khanapur MLA Ajmira Rekha Naik on Wednesday flagged off 102 Amma Vodi ambulance, sanctioned for Kadem Primary Health Centre, in the presence of staff and local leaders. She said the vehicle is mainly to benefit women and children.

Addressing the PHC staff, Naik said the ambulance could be utilised for the benefit of poor pregnant women, nursing mothers and patients returning home after treatment. KCR Kits given to women, who delivers in government hospitals, were proving to be a boon for them, she added.

Earlier, she inspected the PHC and made enquiries about its working. Naik interacted with some patients and advised the staff to provide better health care, particularly to those from rural areas. She made enquired about deliveries, including the counseling process for the benefit of women with intent to limit the number of children not more than two.

Women patients brought to the MLA’s notice the delay in payment of delivery incentive. After consulting the District Collector and holding discussions with the district hospital officials, she assured the patients that the money would be released.

Among those present were Sarpanch Chityal Chinnaiah, MPTC Jadi Gangadhar, PHC doctor Manasa, TRS district leaders Takkalla Satyanarayana, mandal president and secretary Nalla Jeevan Reddy, Kola Ganganna, leaders Rafiq Ahmed, Satyam, Jada Indur Netha, Akula Lachanna, Syed Hashim, TRSV mandal president and secretary Mohd Gousuddin, Hasib, PHC staff and local leaders.
