Medical teams of BJP, IRCS set off for Medaram
A team of medical staff, consisting of 32 members constituted by BJP Warangal Urban and Rural district units, set off for Medaram to offer free medical services to the devotees during the ongoing Sammakka Saralamma Jatara.
Hanamkonda: A team of medical staff, consisting of 32 members constituted by BJP Warangal Urban and Rural district units, set off for Medaram to offer free medical services to the devotees during the ongoing Sammakka Saralamma Jatara.
The team consists of eight doctors, para-medical staff and six ambulances. The party Urban and Rural district unit presidents Rao Padma and A Ashok Reddy have flagged off the team’s journey to Medaram, in Hanamkonda on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, they informed that medical camps would be set up at three points at Medaram village. Medicines worth Rs 1.50 lakhs were provided to the medical team to distribute to the devotees, who need medical attention.
In the case of emergency cases, arrangements were also made to shift the patients to Warangal or Hyderabad. Similarly, a Medaram Jatara Committee under the chairmanship of ex-MLA Ch Lingaiah Dora was set up to offer volunteer services during the jatara, said Padma. Nearly 400 volunteers were roped in to assist the devotees. After the jatara was over, a programme ‘Swachh Medaram’ would be taken up wherein about 500 BJP workers would clear the garbage at the village, she added.
On the other hand, the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Warangal chapter has dispatched a mobile blood bank to address medical emergency at Medaram. The blood bank was equipped with two units each of every blood group. A medical camp at Chintal cross roads, Narlapur was set up where free medicines would be distributed with the help of IRCS pharmacy and Lions Club, informed the society chairman Dr P Vijaychander Reddy.
Meanwhile, Jana Vignana Vedika, Warangal unit has also set up a free medical camp at Hayagreevachary grounds in Hanamkonda for the benefit of the devotees going to Medaram. The vedika district president D Prabhakara Chary and general secretary D Satyaprakash were distributing medicines to the devotees suffering from common ailments, along with huge number of face masks.
