Khanapur: Electricity Department officials have adopted dual power supply system to provide power supply not only to agriculture but also to villages located under the limits of electric sub-stations from Nirmal to Luxettipet (Mancherial district).

If power supply from Nirmal sub-station has been affected, the supply can be restored immediately drawing power from Luxettipet. In case of detection of snags in the supply at any of the sub-centers between Nirmal and Luxettipet, supply can be restored either of sub-station Nirmal or Luxettipet.

Also, arrangements have been made to supply power 24x7 from Kadem Mandal headquarters feeder. To overcome power interruptions in the 33kv Khanapur-Kadem feeder, a 33-KV line linking Luxettipet with Kadem has been provided.

A 500 KV transformer has been provided at intake well and two 800-KV transformers at the water treatment plant in Kadem.

Electric works for the water grid project in Udumpur, Dostnagar, Singapur, Lakshmipur, Allampalli have been completed. In Gangapur village, suitable site has been acquired. New electric poles have been erected to rectify the sagging Kadem-Khanapur 33 kv power line.
Special breakers have been installed as part of supplying 24x7 power to intake well and water treatment plant at Kadem. Since the midnight of December 31, round the clock power supply is being provided to agriculture and domestic sector.

Officials have taken up works to detect power problems in Nirmal and Mancherial districts within minutes and restore the power supply through another feeder.

Northern Power Distribution Company Limited Assistant Engineer Kesetti Srinivas said that all electric sub-centers from Nirmal to Luxettipet have been networked to supply power 24x7 to domestic sector and to the farm sector.
