Karimnagar: Senior Congress leader and former MP Ponnam Prabhakar on Friday took exception to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remarks that the AP Reorganisation Bill was passed closing the Parliament doors. He was referring to Modi’s speech in the Parliament on Wednesday.

Speaking to media persons here, he said that Modi had insulted the sacrifices made by the people of Telangana State. “If the passage of Telangana bifurcation is undemocratic, the BJP which supported the bill too has its part,” he said, recalling Sushma Swaraj’s words after the bill was passed – “Don’t forget this Chinnamma.”

What is dismaying that the TRS MPs who were in the Parliament when Modi made that comment behaved like mute spectators, didn’t refute even after a day, Prabhakar said, demanding the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and the TRS MPs to respond over the issue.

This apart, TRS government has not opened its mouth over the injustice done to the State in regard with fund allocation and bifurcation assurances in the Union Budget, he said. “Whether the silence is a ploy or fear of CBI case against KCR,” the former MP questioned. He also came down heavily on BJP State leaders for not reacting.

He found fault with the Nizamabad MP K Kavitha for supporting Andhra Pradesh MPs who were up against the Centre for allocation of more funds. He also found fault with the MP for raising slogan of ‘Jai Andhra’ in the Parliament. Training guns against MA&UD Minister KTaraka Rama Rao, Prabhakar criticised him for calling Congress a party of loafers.

“If Congress is loafers’ party, KTR should know that his father KCR, former PCC Presidents K Keshava Rao and D Srinivas have started their political career from the Congress,” he said. He also questioned why TRS inducted legislators who won on Congress ticket.

Why KCR along with his family met Sonia Gandhi and showed loyalty and obedience after AP Bifurcation Bill was passed if it was a loafers’ party, Prabhakar questioned. Further he advised KTR to hold his tongue and not to utter indecently against the Opposition. He said that both Modi and KCR fearing defeat in the next elections launching a tirade against the Congress.
