Change hostel mess agency, students demand
Alleging irregularities in the maintenance of mess in attached hostels, the students of Satavahana University staged a dharna in front of the university main gate here on Monday.
Karimnagar: Alleging irregularities in the maintenance of mess in attached hostels, the students of Satavahana University staged a dharna in front of the university main gate here on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, the students pointed out the maintenance of the mess has been given to a single agency for the last two years, very much against the university norms. Students were forced to eat the same menu for the last two years.
The students alleged that the agency contractors and university officials were collided and indulged in irregularities in maintaining the mess in attached hostels of Satavahana University. Stating that the food quality was not good, the students said that the agency people are threatening the students if questioned about the food quality.
They demanded the university officials suspension of the existing agency and hand over the responsibility to another agency and also to change the menu to provide quality food. They warned of intensifying the agitation if the officials do not change the agency for maintenance of mess in attached hostels of the University.
Students Jogi Srinu, Kareem, Mahesh, Vinod, Prakash, Nazeer, Pranay, Bhaskar, Suresh, Praveen, Murali, Pradeep, Navaneeta, Anitha, Pavithra staged dharna in front of the main gate of Shatavahana University.
