Karimnagar: The Karimnagar Rural and Kothapalli Police officials jointly conducted sudden inspections from Thursday midnight to Friday early hours to curb the illegal transporting of sand in Karimnagar.

The police officials seized seven trucks at Yelugandal out skirts which were transporting sand illegally and registered the theft cases against the truck drivers and owners.

Recently, Police officials seized 10 lorries and seven JCB’s which were illegally transporting the sand and registered seven cases against the truck and JCB owners.

The Karimnagar Circle Inspector K Shashidar Reddy said stringent actions will be taken against the person indulged in illegal transport of sand. There was a continuous vigil on the illegal transport of sand. Transporting sand without weigh bills is a crime and warned the people not to indulge in such cases.

If people are caught transporting sand illegally, necessary actions will be taken against them, he added. The drone cameras were used to nab the accused who were employing various kinds of methods for transporting the sand illegally along with appointing special police teams to stop the illegal sand transporting, he added.

Along with the criminal cases, the vehicles will be seized if caught transporting sand illegally, said the Circle Inspector K Shashidar Reddy.
