As many as 17,054 students in erstwhile Warangal district are going to appear for Telangana Gurukul Common Entrance Test (TGCET)-2018 for admission into fifth class at different residential schools run by State government.

Warangal: As many as 17,054 students in erstwhile Warangal district are going to appear for Telangana Gurukul Common Entrance Test (TGCET)-2018 for admission into fifth class at different residential schools run by State government.

The test is scheduled be held on April 8 (Sunday) at a total of 44 examination centres, informed Warangal urban District Education Officer (DEO) K Narayana Reddy speaking to press persons along with the TSWREI District Coordinator D Uma Maheshwari here on Friday.

There are eight centres in Warangal urban district, 11 centres each in Warangal rural, Jayashanker-Bhupalpally and Mahabubabad while three centres in Jangaon district. 44 Chief Superintendents, 44 departmental officers and five route officers have been appointed to monitor smooth conduct of the test.

About 3,282 students in Warangal urban, 4,168 in Warangal rural, 3,711 in Jayashanker Bhupalpally, 4,616 in Mahabubabad and 1,277 students in Jangaon district will appear for the test. The hall tickets can be downloaded from http://tgcet.cgg.gov.in, the DEO informed.

Narayana Reddy sked the parents to visit the designated centre a day before and arrive at the centre along with the children by 9 am on the test day. The students will be allowed into examination halls by 10 am and will be given a demo on how to fill up OMR sheets and their details on the answer sheets.

A meeting with officials concerned had been conducted and all arrangements for the test such police security, running additional RTC buses, ensuring uninterrupted power supply and supply of drinking water and ORS sachets made.
