Govt school students' mathematical proficiency impresses all
The students from Zilla Parishad High School, Kommala in Geesukonda mandal of Warangal Rural district have made an impressive presentation of their mathematical proficiency. A group of 25 students called on Warangal Rural District Collector M Haritha here on Monday along with their mathematics teacher Dommati Bikshapathi and presented their skills.
Hanamkonda: The students from Zilla Parishad High School, Kommala in Geesukonda mandal of Warangal Rural district have made an impressive presentation of their mathematical proficiency. A group of 25 students called on Warangal Rural District Collector M Haritha here on Monday along with their mathematics teacher Dommati Bikshapathi and presented their skills.
They read non-terminating non-recurring decimal value of ‘Pi’, also called Archimedes' constant and symbolised with Greek letter ‘π’. The students read 100, 500, 1000 and 2000 digits of Pi. A student, V Ganesh, read 2000 digits of Pi while another student B Mamatha reeled off 500 digits in just 90 seconds. The students’ performance during a recent Maths Talent show was recorded by Maths Genius World Records Book.
The Collector Haritha thoroughly amazed at the skill of the students, interacted with them and congratulated them for creating the record. She also appreciated their teacher Bikshapathi and called upon the teachers at government schools to emulate him.
School Education Regional Joint Director (RJD) P Rajiv also appreciated the students and the teacher. DRDA PD Y Shekar Reddy, School head master P Prakasham, Kommala sarpanch J Sandhya Kesari, school management committee chairman Venkanna, DCEB secretary Pattabhi, sectorial officer Sandhya Rani, Telangana Mathematics Forum general secretary Shyam Sundarachary, Pratapagiri Prasad, teachers T Ramesh, A Rammanohar, Umadevi, P Devender and others were present.
