Joint Collector Vanaja Devi cleared all the doubts of farmers regarding the construction of barrier (Goda Katta) under Kaleshwaram project in between Godavari and Manair rivers to withstand the flow of water from Annaram barrage, at a meeting at the Collectorate conference hall in Peddapalli on Wednesday. 

Peddapalli: Joint Collector Vanaja Devi cleared all the doubts of farmers regarding the construction of barrier (Goda Katta) under Kaleshwaram project in between Godavari and Manair rivers to withstand the flow of water from Annaram barrage, at a meeting at the Collectorate conference hall in Peddapalli on Wednesday.

She invited the farmers of Mallaram and Arenda villages of Manthani mandal, who objected the construction of barrier and conducted a special meeting at the Collectorate to clear their doubts with the engineers of departments concerned, to speed up the construction works under Kaleshwaram project.

Kaleshwaram Project Chief Engineer Venkateshwarlu explained the farmers about the benefits they would be getting once the barrier is constructed in between Godavari and Manair rivers.

Vanaja Devi assured that the government would not take up any works that would affect the farmers. The construction of Kaleshwaram Project was meant for farmers’ welfare and to supply water for irrigation purpose.

She ordered in-charge district revenue officer B Padmaiah to inspect the villages along with other officials and conduct survey clearing all doubts to the farmers so that the works under Kaleshwaram project may go on at quicker pace. Officer on Special Duty of Land Acquisition Manohar, Supervisor Prakash, sarpanches and MPTCs were present.
