Bhupalpally: District Collector D Amoy Kumar urged the farmers to make use of the cash benefit provided by the government under Rythu Bandhu scheme. The Collector who inspected pattadar passbooks and cheques distribution in Tadvai and Venkatapuram mandals on Friday, said that government was providing the farmers with cash benefits in a bid to prevent them from falling prey to private financiers.

He advised the farmers to purchase fertlisers and seed with the money provided by the government. He told them to use the cash benefit judiciously. “There is no need to run to banks to withdraw cash. Farmers can draw cash before three months of its issuance,” he said, advising them not to choke the banks.

He directed the officials to ensure all basic amenities at the distribution centres. In another development, Amoy Kumar instructed the officials of paddy procurement centres to send the stocks to rice mills immediately. Interacting with farmers, he enquired about the paddy procurement process.
