Warangal: Ahead of Ramjan month that begins from May 17, the Warangal Police Commissionerate on Tuesday conducted a peace committee meeting here.

Speaking at the meeting, Commissioner of Police V Ravinder said that he had never witnessed a city like Warangal that has no blemish in maintaining communal harmony for so long.

“It’s a happening city and an amalgam of Hindu, Muslim and different religions. The hallmark of the city is that people here mingle with each other so affectionately,” the Commissioner said. The aim of the peace committee meeting is to strengthen the brotherliness further, he added.

He said that irrespective of the religion, the message is same – love, share and help each other.

Conveying his wishes in advance, the Commissioner said that this Ramjan month augurs well not only for the Muslims but also to people of all religions. Several religious heads said that Warangal has the culture of celebrating festivals of all religions.

Ifthar is organised and participated by all in the city, they added. Bhadrakali temple priest Sheshu, Gangula Upendra Sharma, Kazipet dargah head Khusroo Pasha, Balashouri, Kurien, Siddik, Chandrababu and Mahender Singh were among others present.
