Peddapalli: Experts and scientists of different fields will conduct free training classes for farmers belonging to SC community, on various aspects of cultivation for getting maximum yield, said District Collector Devasena.

In a statement released here on Thursday, the Collector said SC farmers would be given training on modern methods and techniques to be adopted in cultivation of various crops, advantages of soil testing, selection of better variety seeds, usage of traditional fertilisers, crop rotation methods and how to use water resources judiciously.

Agriculture and horticulture scientists, besides officials of underground water, electricity, rural development, animal husbandry and fisheries departments will participate in the training programme. During the training period, farmers will be educated about the advanced methods to be adopted in manufacturing agriculture-related products, rearing of fish and milch animals besides cultivation of vegetable plants, she added.

They will also educate the farmers about various equipment used in agricultural field and subsidy given on this equipment to benefit the farmers. Travel allowance will be paid to farmers, along with providing meals during the training period, the Collector added.

Interested farmers, belonging to Scheduled Caste, may submit their application with mobile number at the office of ‘Scheduled Castes Cooperative Society Building’ in Peddapalli before June 10.

The details of the training programme along with venue, time and date will be conveyed to the farmers either by phone or by sending message to their mobiles, added Collector Devasena.
