Warangal: Kakatiya Urban Development Authority (KUDA) has released an App on the Master Plan 2041.KUDA chairman M Yadava Reddy and Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) Commissioner VP Gautham have released the App here on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, they said the App was meant to help the citizens learn about the details of the Master Plan.

Following the suggestions made by Minister for Urban Development and Municipal Administration, K T Rama Rao, efforts had been made to ensure the Master Plan to be futuristic keeping in view the needs of citizens in the year 2041, the KUDA chairman said.

The draft of the latest Master Plan was prepared after nine months of groundwork, including field study and processing of satellite imagery. The draft Master Plan has been notified in May in accordance with the provisions of Telangana Urban Areas (Development) Act 1975.

The State government was intending to develop Warangal, the cultural capital of Telangana, as the second major economic hub in the State, Yadava Reddy said, adding that the android-based App was available on Google Play Store and the public could install it on their smart phone free of cost.

A campaign on the uses of the App will be taken up through distribution of pamphlets. Citizens can submit their objections and suggestions regarding the Master Plan initiated in June 2017 and is aimed at sustainable development of its 1805 square kilometres area, he added.

Speaking on the occasion, Gautham said efforts would be made to take the App to every citizen in the city. The App offers details of landmarks, locations and KUDA approved layouts. A three-member committee will look into the objections and suggestions on the Master Plan and resolve them before its final notification.

The KUDA planning officer E Ajith Reddy informed The Hans India that the App for smart phones ran on iOS mobile operating system and would be released in four to five days as it is under development.
