Jangaon: In a bid to mend his relations with Station Ghanpur MLA Dr Thatikonda Rajaiah, the Deputy Chief Minister, K Srihari, has stated that there were no differences between them whatsoever.

The Deputy CM along with the MLA has inaugurated a newly constructed gram panchayat building at Thatikonda in the district on Thursday. Addressing a public meeting later, he dismissed the rumours doing rounds in the constituency that the Deputy CM and MLA Rajaiah were at loggerheads.

Srihari claimed that they both were working for the party at the directions of the high command and assured to work for the development of Station Ghanpur Assembly constituency. ‘In my long political life, I never resorted to corruption and done nothing that blights my stature as your leader,’ he told the public.

“I am able to become the Deputy CM because of the support you (public) extended to me and I would always be indebted to the public in the constituency,” he further told the public while listing out his contributions towards the constituency development.

Srihari said when he was the irrigation minister in the past, he ensured launching of Devadula project to supply River Godavari waters to agriculture fields in the constituency. At that time, many dismissed as an election stunt, but the farmers were reaping its benefits now.

Since erstwhile Warangal district lacked a major reservoir to store water, a request was made to the Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao, to construct a reservoir. The CM consented and gave administrative sanctions worth Rs 2,700 crore to construct reservoir at Lingampally, he explained.

Soon the CM was going to launch the reservoir works and after completion of the project, all Assembly constituencies in erstwhile Warangal district would get irrigation facility for two crops in a year, Srihari said.

He promised to lay a double lane road from Station Ghanpur to Narmetta but did not respond to a request made by MLA Rajaiah to
establish government degree and junior colleges in Station Ghanpur constituency.

The Deputy CM stated that the State government has been spending Rs 40,000 crore on 40 different welfare schemes introduced by the Chief Minister. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and many others have appreciated such initiatives, he said asking the public to support the TRS
government. Zilla Parishad chairperson G Padma, local ZPTC Swamy Naik and Sarpanch Sandhya Rani were present.
