Congress rebel J Raghava Reddy has been elected as the chairman of District Cooperative Central Bank (DCCB). He was elected unanimously here on Tuesday ending the suspense over the election of chairman to the post after three months of legal proceedings and political games played by the contestants.

The election was just a formality only to announce the election of Raghava Reddy to the post in view of a direction by High Court given a few weeks ago. The election was stalled four months ago following a court case filed by District Congress Committee president D Madhava Reddy on February 19. After many hearings, the court on April 17 ordered the State government to re-start the election process which was stalled at the stage of withdrawal of nominations on February 19.
